Matthew J. Rossiter
Matthew J. Rossiter focuses his practice on fiduciary litigation, civil litigation, estate planning and probate administration. He has tried cases throughout Missouri, representing trustees, personal representatives, and claimants in all areas of estate administration. He has represented business owners and individuals in a diverse range of civil litigation matters, including personal injury cases. In 2011, Matthew J. Rossiter was elected by his peers to serve a six year term on the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission. The Circuit covers St. Louis County. When there is a judicial vacancy, the Commission interviews applicants and selects a three-person panel. The Governor chooses one of the panelists to fill the judicial vacancy. In 2005, Mr. Rossiter received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the St. Louis County Bar Association. He has argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on litigation, probate administration and estate planning. Matt is a member of the Steering Committee for the BAMSL Probate and Trust Section and is a past chair of that section. He is a founder of the annual Fiduciary Litigation Seminar sponsored by BAMSL, and has presented each of the past five years. He also serves on the St. Louis County Probate Advisory Committee. Matt has been published in The St. Louis Bar Journal (Representing Claimants in Probate Estates: Bad Things Can Happen to Good Lawyers. Fall, 2003). In addition, he is a member of the Lawyers Association of St. Louis, the St. Louis County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar. Matt is a former prosecuting attorney for the cities of Maplewood and Manchester, and has served as Provisional Judge in Manchester and Ballwin. Matt received his undergraduate degree in business administration/finance from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law.
